WHAT’S HAPPENING September is always filled with so much to do – there’s the back to school buzz, events and activities that give us the chance to catch these last days of summer sun, and of course, welcoming all the glorious things the fall season has to offer. This month, catching a farmer’s market is a definite must-do (check out the list below for a few of our favourites), and so is exploring the U-Picks happening in and around the city. September brings so many wonderful produce options to choose from – including the seasonal staple, pumpkins! Check out Somerset Farms in Parkland County, Prairie Gardens in Bon Accord, and Happy Acres U-Pick in Spruce Grove for some bountiful harvests and charm. Fall for these Farmers Markets
Catch the fall harvest and enjoy some of freshest produce, speciality treats and local handmade goods before the season ends.
Check out Edmonton’s ‘Grandest Farmers Market’ in three locations, three days per week: on Sunday at 102 Avenue & 124 Street from 11am-3pm, Thursdays on 108 Avenue & 124 Street from 4pm-8pm, and Saturday’s at Manchester Square from 11am-3pm.
Edmonton Downtown Farmers Market
Located at 10305 – 97 St NW, this year-round market is open on Saturday from 9am-3pm and Sunday from 11am-3pm. You’ll find everything here – including locally raised meats and vibrant products, to ready to eat meals, sweet treats and even local art.
Southwest Edmonton Farmers’ Market
Nestled within the heart of Terwillegar, this market has flourished since it launched in 2011. Find fresh and prepared foods, as well as artisan and out-of-province treats. Visit them at 2051 Leger Road on Wednesdays from 4pm-7:30pm.
Old Strathcona Farmers’ Market
This year-round market is a beloved staple in the popular Old Strathcona neighbourhood. Located on 83rd Ave and 103 Street (just off the lively Whyte Ave shopping district) and open every Saturday from 8am to 3pm.
